Character Information
Summary
Kate is a former CAS Navy SEAL. She came from a military family. She is proud, but feels like she lives in her father's shadow. She left South Carolina soon after her discharge to make her own name in the world. Her service career was exemplary, but her father was an Admiral and he often overshadows her.
Her old callsign was "Starlight". She was originally the only female in SEAL Team 8, and some PO3 made the mistake of saying she was "Pretty as starlight", which earned him a punch in the mouth. Unfortunately, the joke stuck and so did the name.
Kate is a warrior born. She specializes in tactical insertions, amphibious ops, diving and underwater demolitions. Her marksmanship skills are excellent. In the Teams, she was notorious for her propensity to blow things up, or at least try to.
Her original Fixer, Alice Kane, knows that she is an HMHVV carrier.
Kate has Grey Mana tattoos on her back. Rating 3.
Kate is a Consummate Professional. She has a measure of morality, but war and training with the Teams has made it easy for her to suppress this. Morality doesn't control her actions. The validity of a cause or job, and the rewards, be they cash or experience, does.
Kate has been told by Pumpkin King Jack to stay away from Sophocles during the month of October.
Goals
Kate wants to move on from the Navy and establish her career for her life.

Kate seeks to fully become a soldier of fortune. She has decided that the dull life of retirement is for chumps, and now seeks to expand her credibility as a runner.
Kate Wishes to branch out into the world of becoming a professional bodyguard.
Kate is expanding her list of contacts. She has been around the Haven a little, and is getting a feel for the types of people on it. She now wants to expand her list of (OOC NPC) contacts.
Always she seeks to improve her skills. She left the Military behind, but wants to work as a contractor. Shadowhaven is becoming her way into that life. She hopes to one day acquire a reputation to rival her father. Not out of malice but to move out form under his shadow.
Kate wants to increase her Wild Index. She isn't magical, but one thing she's learned is that spirits have their own personalities, motives, and dreams. She is starting to view them the same way she views metahumans and is looking out for them as she would like any other person. Especially if they fought beside her or helped her in some way. Teldragon has shown her that they can provide invaluable help, and Boo showed her that they can be loyal companions.
Background
Kate was born in Charleston, South Carolina. Her father was an Admiral in the CAS Navy and former Captain of an SSVN, and her mother served in the CAS Airforce. Kate joined the CAS Navy when she was 17. Initially, she signed up as a Navy Diver, but her high aptitude and technical skills opened up more dangerous jobs. She volunteered for the SEALs when she was 19, completing training a year later.
She once got to participate in a PR exchange program where she and 11 others went to Moscow for 3 months. She learned new fighting styles from the Red Army, and picked up some specialized skills there.
When she was 29, she became infected with HMHVV III. Her team boarded a vessel that had gone dark off the coast of Virginia. Turns out everyone onboard was a ghoul. Out of 8 SEALS that went in, 2 came out. Her PO1, who was fine, and Kate, who had been exposed. She fought off the infection but became a carrier. It made her sort of a pariah, but allowed her to become more specialized, being able to fight those infected with the Krieger Strain without the risk of consequence.
She had a long and prestigious career in the Navy. She achieved the rank of PO1, retiring after 20 years of service. Her constant desire to strive for greatness led her to acquire more and more cyber and bioware. She has sculpted her body to have many subtle but important enhancements. Anything she lacks she makes up for with her skills and training.
She moved to Seattle after this to work as a civilian contactor. A friend who moved there said she might find work. Initially she thought to contract to the UCAS Navy, but found them annoying to work for. Plus they didn't seem to like her due to her previous employment in the CAS Navy. She receives a pension from the Navy, but donates 100% of it to a charity fund dedicated to wounded and disabled soldiers and veterans. She doesn't even count this income as hers at this point.
She soon discovered the life of Shadowrunning to supplement her income. Plus she wanted the excitement since civilian life is so boring.

Special Modifications - Kate has a history using various firearms and can customize them to be very effective.
Prototype Materials - Custom Jabberwock bone grips really add to her gun's flair. And the special parts as part of the S-K reward help out too.
Shoot First, Don't Ask - Kate is trained in close quarters combat and infiltration, providing her with the experience to handle surprising situations.
Common Sense - Kate always had good common sense. It has saved her life more than once.
Battle Hardened - Kate is a soldier. Even if she has been discharged, you don't lose the attitude.
Toughness - Taking all these shots for other people makes you stronger.
Resistant to Pathogens and Toxins - Kate has a pretty hardy constitution from her military service, and years of eating bad food.
Jack of All Trades, Master of None - Kate has been dabbling in just about everything. This, coupled with her ADHD, will probably make it easier to learn things, but difficult to master them.
Negative
Carrier (HMHVV III) - Kate became infected when she was 29. She fought off the virus, but became a carrier.

Appearance
Tattoos and Scars
She bears numerous small scars from her service, but one stands out. A jagged claw scar extends from the base of her neck to her shoulder. This is where a ghoul grabbed her and cut along the top plate of her armor through the Kevlar. It healed, but left a very prominent scar. This can be seen if she wears a t-shirt. It can just barely be seen over the collar of an armored jacket or dress coat.
Kate has numerous tattoos as well. She has a full right sleeve that's very much CAS and military inspired. She has a SEAL trident on the back of her neck, but low enough to be concealed by a collard shirt. She also has a lunging shark on her left arm.
Kate recently had Grey Mana Tattoos done on her back in the form of a large shark. The tail starts just above her butt, curves up her back, and over her right shoulder. The shark's jaws open just under her collarbones. This makes it so it is visually hidden wearing clothes, but as with all grey mana tattoos, awakened can see it for what it is.
Clothing
Kate is a tall, fit former CAS Navy SEAL. She typically wears a black and grey knee length armor jacket with a Cavalier Evanator at her side in a concealed holster.
Kate in Full Body Armor looks like a typical CAS military Special Operator. The only insignia she carries is a small CAS flag patch on her shoulder. Loaded out, she has her FN HAR and grenade launcher on slings, microgrenades and ammunition strapped to her rig.
Kate wears her old CAS dog tags usually, unless the job is REALLY sensitive. In addition to the two that are normally there, she has a red one that says "CARRIER" on one side, and "HMHVV III" on the other.
